Nice Bass and Fluke Caught Off Eatons Neck This Week

bass caught in Long Island Sound

Captain Dennis' dog and Bass caught off Eatons Neck this past week.

The hot Bass action slowed a bit this week, but still plenty of keepers around. Capt. Dennis of TowBoatU.S. caught some nice bass and fluke off the West side Eatons Neck. Chunking seems to be the best bait. Got a report from Joe who had great action on Fluke drifting in the mouth of Oyster Bay. No doormats but several keepers mixed in with the shorts. Lots of Porgies off Caumsette State Park and Center Island Reef. I even saw some nice blackfish (6-8lb range) brought up in some lobster traps. All were released, but maybe a good sign for the fall run?? Some fun cocktail bluefish action mid sound between Norwalk and Lloyds Point, just look for the birds. For those lucky enough to find the bunker schools off Hempstead Harbor (very spotty this week) there were some nice bass to 35lbs.

Good Luck!
